I was born in 1921 of the wisest of parents who were literate well educated thru their own efforts and earned finances. From them I learned a sense of self-responsibility.
I grew up and matured in the days of the Great Depression of 1929. I learned that depressions come an go as a part of the so-called Business Cycle. This Cycle was actually was the rise and decline of demand for goods, according the Economic Laws of Supply and Demand. These were time when too many good entrepreneurial people trying to earn a living were producing more goods than the consuming people could use.
Obviously, if you cannot sell your goods, you stop producing. You also cut yiur production costs
My first job was in a typical sweat shop
